Hi Amanda I guess I welcomed you on the wrong thread !!! You said you had two rather interesting pregnancies, what made them interesting, you have peaked my interest !!! I do know how pregnancies mess with the metabolism, after four kids, and of course four pregnancies, I have never been the same. This is the right diet though to help make it work better. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do, the support makes all the differance !!! Stephie ;D

Stephie, Thanks for the warm welcome (and to everone else too!). My pregnancies were interesting because I had hyperemesis the entire 9 months. I was SOOO sick. When I had my first son (age 4) I only gained 15 lbs and he was 7 lbs. 14 oz of it. When I had my second son (18 months) I had gained 13 lbs. and he was 8lbs of it. I also nursed my second baby and lost quite a bit of weight that way, however it found me again. So, I think all the yo-yo weight loss/gain has not been good for my metabolism. I'm hoping a low carb diet will help. Amanda ;D

What is hyperemesis, I have to admit I have never heard of that before. How much weight do you have to lose, if you do not mind me asking? Are you on the Atkin diet or another low carb diet and how do you like it ?? I find that when I am consistant on my plan that I feel very good and full of energy. I am so glad you joined us here and look forward to learning more about you and your low carb way of eating. Stephie

Basically hyperemesis means you throw up every time you move. It goes WAY BEYOND typical morning sickness and made dehydration a big issue for me. I'm just now trying to follow Meshelle's (I hope the computer doesn't mess up her name again) lead to try low carb again. My goal would be to lose at least 50 lbs. and feel like I look decent in my clothes again. I guess now I need to go read the other posts and research low carb diets, huh? Amanda

I think you really need to get the book. I have been flip flopping between programs....... and have re-read the Atkins book tonight..... just to re-inforce WHY His low carb plan seems to produce the best results. There are many plans out there....... check them out on the web, and If you find one you like.. read the book. Good luck with your weight loss/heath gain journey

Wow Amanda, that is terrilbe, I am so sorry you had to go through that, I could not even imagine how hard that must have been. My daughter in law was not as bad as that, but she was pretty miserable. They started out wanting four, now she is thinking only one more unless the next pregnancy is much better. I think you have set a very reasonable goal and you will get there, you just have to stick with it no matter what, and if you make a bad choice at times, do not get upset, just pick yourself right up, and start over next meal, it is really that simple !!! We are here to give you all the support you could need, that is what this board is all about, helping each other. We all need each other as we work hard to change lifetime habits of eating. I think we are all going to be starting next year a big bunch of happy losers lol !!! Stephie

Stephie said Sugarbane may be able to help us out with the Avatars, when she is settled. I think we need a link added, to allow us to download from our PC. Then we could see all your little dogs squished into a little square ... LOL ............ they are too cute

I sure hope she can, it depends on the board what she can and can't do.Differant boards are set up differeant ways. Is her avator in the list, I am not sure. Every board is differant but if it can be done, I am sure she will do it for you when she can . That would be so fun if she could help you set up your personal ones !!! Stephie

I did not see Sugarbanes avatar on the list and clicked on any that I though it could be, so that is a good sign that maybe it can be done !!! As soon as I hear she is settled, I will ask her okay , I know she will not have daily access to the internet for a couple of months until they get settled. Stephie
