Six pounds is great !!! You should be able to lose at about 2 pounds a week, that seems very reasonable to shoot for and you may do even better. I understand wanting to go into the next lower 100, I am currently at 231.5 and cannot wait to see 199, it has been at least 12 years since I was below that mark and I was still up there close to it. I know we can do it, and with the support we can give each other here, it will help a lot. Stephie

Wow, you are doing great. Now, please stick with it. It is well known that for some weird reason, the first time you do low carb you lose the best on it. If you fall off for any amount of time and get back on , you will never lose as fast as the first time. This is refered to as the one golden shot. I believe it is low carb luxury site has an article on it. So, please, stick with it and you will get to goal !!! Don't do what I have done and fall off and have to start over and work harder. I have been on low carb on and off, regretably, for two years. This time though, I am reading Dr phils book and doing much better. I have much better control plus, this last time I fell off after six weeks it was because I was so sick with the flu and then never got my energy back, frankly I was getting worried about my health. I could not do hardly anything at all. I decided I had to get back on plan. My first day back on low carb, I got on the treadmill I could not walk 15 minutes at 2.0, I was in pain and exhausted, day two I forced myself to go 20. Ended not getting on it for a few days, started feeling great, got on it a week later, and went 30 minutes at 2.2 and could have gone longer but had to use the restroom from all the water I drank. I also cut out all low carb treats. I had a disaster with the low carb ice cream midway through but got over that, but I have found FOR ME, cutting out most dairy worked best. I love dairy so much, cheese cake and pudding and ice cream and cream cheese and regular cheese. If I was to cheat on my woe in the past, it would be one of those items or pizza. Every low carb attempt before this one, I allowed myself sugar free pudding home made whipped cream with splenda, low carb cheese cake, etc.... and the cravings never went away. Now, I do not eat any of those things, and I have no cravings for sweets, so I think for me, that is making the differance right now. It is not something everyone has to do, that is why I stressed FOR ME, but that is what this woe is about, finding what works for you. YOu are obviously doing great, so you have found what works for you, that is awesome !!! Today is day 17 for me and I plan on doing this for the rest of my life. I guess being so sick you can't even clean the house or do hardly anything will do that to you. I feel so much more energy and although I still ache, it is getting better, but a lot of it will not go until the weight is gone. I have to be patient. I have lost 9.5 pounds in 17 days, so that is not too shabby. I am very happy. Well, I am looking forward to us watching each other hit goal in time, you are well on your way, awesome !!! Stephie

I love your enthusiasm, it is wonderful and very inspiring !!! I agree with what you said about it being differant than a diet. My skin looks healthier, a lot of my pain is getting better and I have more energy, on most cal reducing diets you do not get those results, and you are starving all the time too. That is another advantage of low carb. You can eat so you are not starving and protien is very filling !!! It is the best way of eating around, I do believe that !! Stephie ;D
