I've just joined this board, but have been an active member on another board (and an active lc'er) since July 2003. Away from the boards, I'm a teacher (7th grade, public school, Language Arts and Social Studies), a singer (church choir and one of the cantors [aka song leaders], a mother of two 20-somethings, a wife for 31 years, a bibliophile--all in all, a busy lady.
My weight loss has been fairly slow, compared to many: I've dropped just under 48 pounds since I started on this way of life. However, I figure it took me 30 years to put the weight on, I can take a few years to get it off and keep it off.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here.
Jude

HI Jude !! You do sound very busy, what a wonderful and full life you lead !!! I am also the mom of older kids, and it is a strange time of adjustment, but it is all good !! We still have the fourth one home, he is 14 and we sure enjoy him a lot. It is very strange to only have one home after raising four !!! You are doing great on your low carb, and what a fantastic attitude !!! I have no doubt that you will reach your goal !! You have lost a lot of weight in nine months, it may seem slow, but it is not bad at all. I have heard time and again it is better to lose it slower as it is easier on your body, and your skin, also it seems to be more permanant if you take your time and let your body adjust. I have heard people say they lose twice that in that amount of time, and that is so wonderful, but most of us lost it a lot slower , they are the exception. I look so forward to watching your progress , I am glad you took time out of your schedule to drop in and introduce yourself !!! Stephie
