I have previously been on Atkins before and lost 25 pounds, but after the birth of my baby 7 months ago I gained a ton of weight and need to begin again. I just could use some positive reinforcement and guidance as I begin this new journey. I am at very high risk for diabetes and many other health problems. I watched my Mom die a slow and painful death with diabetes after having both legs amputated. Help me find the strength to take a different path. For myself, for my miraculous little son and for my husband who has never stopped loving me even at 240 pounds. I'm 37 and weigh WAY too much, but I was once a very attractive blonde! I'm trapped in here and need to break free! Any hands to hold would be appreciated!!

I understand how you feel completely. I am 43 and at my highest weight I was 244. I am down about ten and a half pounds and am working hard. Diabetes runs in my family too so it is also a very scary prospect for me as well if I do not take care of myself. Our kids are all grown, three married and a fourteen year old at home, so I do not even have the excuse of a baby, our baby is 14. I also have a very loving husband who has never once made me feel badly for being heavy, and who loves me regardless of my weight. He does have some weight issues too, but near as bad as mine. I would love to be there for you, support is so important and I need it as well. I am doing great, but want it to stay that way. I am glad you joined us, I do believe with this support we can do it, and be big losers together !!! Stephie

Dear Stephie, Thank you so much for taking the time to say hi and offer encouragement. I am sitting in a house full of carbs that have to be purged from the pantry and a small pocketful of hope. I am taking this one minute at a time right now, not even one day yet! Let's keep in touch and keep each other going.
Thanks again!

for the first time , this time around I got everything out of the pantry and gave it away, to family, friends and the rest to a food bank in town. I had never done that. Now, it is easy for me to do that as hubby and me eat low carb and we just buy our son his own food, if you are feeding hubby differant, it is harder, but can be done. Try precooking some meat up for the week, lots of it. I get out the barbeque and cook until the coals are dead, and cook up a few packs of hot dogs, and hamberger patties, son eats those too, steaks, pork chops, chicken breast fillets, what ever I can get my hands on . I put them in tupperware or zip baggies and just pick what we want for each lunch and dinner. I love to cut up the steak into strips and heat it up and eat it like that with a bit of salad or veggies and a bit of ranch to dip them in. Hard boil up a bunch of eggs, slice up cheese or summer sausage, if you fill the fridge with food you CAN have, it will be so much easier to get through each day. I find if I can grab something out a bag, even going out the door, it helps a lot. You will be fine, and you can do this, and I will be right here with you to help you along !!! Stephie
