So, about 1 year ago I read an article by Gary Taubes and Then watched a short movie by Dr. Robert Lustwig (featured on Sixty Mins just last week) on the dangers of sugar. I was open minded and I gave it a shot. I used to be in great shape in high school and college but as a young professional sitting in cubical all day at a software company and having a love for Belgium Beer I found myself in just really bad shape. Im 5 9 and before I knew it I was up to up 175 LBS. I used to snowboard when I was younger but soon found it difficult to even bend over my gut and buckle my bindings. How did I let this happen? I had tried the low carb thing before in the past but to be honest I couldn't sustain it. It got boring eating the same old things and I began to YoYo. I would drop 10lbs then put on 12 Ilbs, I just became really frustrated and began to except my new body.
I heard what doctor Lustwig and Mr. Taubes had to say and I applied it to my life. And most importantly my wife bought into it. She is a accountant by trade but is a marathoner and is constantly reading books on Health and Nutrition. After checking out countless Low Carb Cook Books she has started her own Blog www.LITTLEMISSRUNNER.COM and has compiled the recipes that worth keeping on her blog. Yes Im telling you to check it out but most importantly Im telling you it worked for me. In several ways, I have lost 45 lbs in a year and have had a steady weight now for 4 and half months. I feel great as my protein gives me a really even burn, Im not up and down all day. And Im not tired of the meals. I actually look forward to dinner and sitting down at the table with Miranda and having a normal dinner. It's been great for my body, my health and our relationship.
I feel good again. When you lose your health you it becomes glaringly appearant that nothing else is really important. Not Money, Cars, Ect...
Her recipes saved me and gave me my self confidence back. Now I just need a new drivers license picture....
