TEXTTEXT Again, I have been on Atkins for a year now. when I started the diet it was much harder to get started. Now I am so excited to go the store and see all the new stuff for us LOW CARB people. Maybe everyone knows this but I know it is cool when I go to the store and see a new low carb items and wonder how long has this been out. So I thought maybe it would so cool to keep each other aware of all the new things coming out. This is what I found this lately...... Hood Low Carb countdown... (MILK) Dannon and blue bunny low carb yogurt. (Blue bunny yogurts are wonderful because they are made with splenda even before this low carb craze and are a lot lower in carbs then regular yogurt. Even without the new low carb product they came out with.) Breyers low carb ice cream (Has been out for a while but is so good, I thought everyone should know about it) Which I am going to add is VERY VERY GOOD!! LOL Oh yeah, I heard frito lay is coming out in May with low carb doritos and tortillas. I used to have to go to the health food store to get a limited amount of "fun food" for my diet and it would cost so much. Now it is so wonderful to go to my local food store and find all these low carb items.. I am way excited!

The low carb ice creams are very amazing, BUT, you have to be very careful to eat quite small amounts. My hubby and I and my best friend and her hubby are all low carb and so I bought some low carb ice cream for all of us when we got together one night, oh my gosh. we all ended up in the bathroom, us within a couple hours and them after they got home, we actually had such a bad reaction we gave it to them to take home, they had the same reaction after they ate it at home. Bad bad gas and other bathroom problems It was so terrible. So, if you are going to eat it, eat only a very small amount, you cannot eat a regular bowl of it, which we all made the mistake of doing. The low carb candy is the same way, very very tasty, but it also has sugar alchohols in it like the ice cream and I made the mistake of eating a small bag of low carb toffee squares, oh my, they were so wonderful. It was Easter sunday and we went to Out back to have dinner , I ended up in the bath room every ten minutes or so until we got back to our son and his wifes apartment and could take pepto. It was so awful. I will not touch anything with sugar alcohols now. I am ultra sensitive to them. I do like the yogurts they are wonderful. I have not tried the low carb chips yet. One of these days I will, but not yet. I want to eat as few fun foods as possible and stay pure, I have just fallen off of low carb too many times and want to keep temptation at bay and eat nothing sweet or snacky. I am very glad these things are available, it is so wonderful to be able to live on low carb and have so many choices. I have never tried any low carb pasta, my husband can't eat wheat anymore, so we just eat the spagetti squash, it is very good. I may try the pasta myself sometime and see how i do, but again, not for a while. I want to get down to about 199 before I do much experiementing. I am so determined to do this and succeed this time !!! I do not want to do anything to mess it up !!! Stephie

I`m going to try and stay away from pre-packed foods for as long as I can. (Not that we have a great range in OZ).
Some people report that even though they stay within there carb limits, pre-packaged foods stall their weight loss. (But everyone is different).
Nice to know more and more items are being produced though, as there WILL come a time when you just CRAVE certain dishes, and to have a Low-Carb alternative will aid in stopping the Binges.

Hey, as long as it does not cause you problems I feel the same way you do, go for it. Have you ever tried spagetti squash, it is awesome and only has the carbs a squash has, so if you have to cut back on the pasta, you have that alternative. I sure hope you can keep the pasta, if it makes you happier on the woe, it is worth keeping for sure !!! I am trying to stay away from a lot of the new stuff, but like Dawn mentioned, I am very happy to see it all out there. It is so nice to know if I just have to have some pasta or chips or what ever, It is there for me to keep on plan, that is very exciting !!! Stephie

Atkins Advantage fruits of the forest bar - ok at a push Atkins Adv choc indulgence - yuk, not even good from the fridge.
Carb Count Bars (only found these in one shop 130 miles from home!) delicious in Peanut, foul in Lemon.
We now have low carb Kit Kat and Rolos, but they are very pricy and i have not tried them.
