Evening is snack time for me! Sometimes I need something do do with my hands while I watch tv I am finding that a plate of nuts and seeds and some slices of cheese cut up into small strips fills that gap left by crisps and chocolate. It makes a nice little selection and the cheese goes well with the nuts. Sunflower seeds are very "pickable" and I have a selection of walnuts, brazils, almonds and hazelnuts in stock most of the time. The longer I low carb, the less I need to "pick" at food, but old habits take a little while to vanish completely and I have found this tip helpful.

You can make some little hors-d`oeuvres with slices of small salami as the base, with cheese & olive (or what ever) on top.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhh salami cheese and olives......... LOL

veggies and dip are great, and sometimes I will buy a small bag of pepperoni to snack on. One trick is to cook it in the microwave until they are crispy, they taste wonderful, but it is a lot of work for not much snack, I ususally just eat the right out of the package. Macadamia nuts are my downfall, I love those stupid things. Pork rinds,if they are flavored are a nice treat once in a while too. I am trying to not snack as much and I am doing better now. Stephie

Mmmmm! Found soya snacks! Like veggie pork scratchings! very low carbs and sold in the big chemists with the soya isoflavones for menopause!
Also found a real beauty this week - Organic Snack Mix! Roasted soya beans, pumkin seeds and sunflower seed kernals! Wow! They come out at just under 7 carbs a bag but they have about 10g of fibre. Does that mean i need to count them as less than 7 net carbs?
I hope so because they are expensive but delicious!

The "NET CARB" thing can be difficult to work out, can`t it.......... In the US they subtract the fibre from the nutritional panel, but here in OZ, it is already done. Glad you found something you like, I personally dont like soy products..... or at least the ones I have tried

Hmm, the soy crunchies have a good added flavour (sour cream and onion) and they are very small so a bag takes ages to eat. They make an excellent pop corn replacement if everyone else is eating that in the cinema! But if you chew them too much - the flavor goes and it's a bit like a mouthful of cat litter! lol! Still - it IS good for you! SO I don't mind that too much! I think I have become addicted to roasted pumpkin seeds. I am considering a 20 mile drive to the shop which stocks them!

Are you allowed to eat pumkin seedson induction? I used to mix a seed mix into my salads when I was on a low fat diet. They tasted good but it included corn which is a no on atkins. It included poppy seeds, linseeds. Erm I will need to check the others but are those allowed on induction

induction is supposed to be 2 weeks of strictly Meats , eggs, some cheese, vegies and dairy......... PLENTY of water and vitamin supplements.
After the first 2 weeks, you then add other foods to the menu, checking that they dont effect your weight loss.
Everyone is different, ........ some people survive on diet colas, while others can`t loose weight consumeing them etc.
It is all about trial and error. There is no rule "set in stone", as each food has a different reaction on each person.
Some drink coffee, others dont. Some eat processed foods, other dont. Some eat more carbs than others, and still loose weight.
It`s all about finding what works for you.
