A favourite snack of mine is Parmesan cheese crisps.
Just spread a thin layer of grated parmesan cheese onto a sheet of Bake-Paper, and microwave until golden. (doesn`t take long at all, but all microwaves vary).
Lift out (will be soft & rubbery), and let sit for a minute to cool down & harden.
Snap into pieces and eat as crisps, or maybe with a dip etc.

That sounds just wonderful !!! What is bake paper, is it wax paper or parchment paper?? I have never seen anything here called that, do you think either of those items would be close enough, that just sounds too good to not try it !!! I have put peperoni in the microwave until crispy, but never heard of the parm cheese. In my pre low carb life, I used to top all my casseroles with a thick layer of parm cheese and bake until crispy, so this is perfect for me !!! stephie

Bake paper is what you can cook cookies on, on an oven tray. They dont seem to stick like they would if you just sprayed oil on a tray.
Comes in a roll like foil, or cling- wrap. (Sorry, I know we have different names for things here LOL). Wax paper is probably what you would use.
I cut the paper to fit a flat plate......... spread the grated parmesan on (like a spider web) and microwave for a short time.
Microwaves differ......... you just want the cheese to go a golden colour, not burn.
It has to cool for a minute to set crips (comes out of microwave like laytex at first, then goes crispy)
People use other cheeses, but parmesan tastes better. (Personal choice).
When I was a shift worker, Every one at work loved these.
I dont make them too often, as I LOVE cheese to much LOL
PS:- Not my recipe....... was one on an Aussie Forum.
