ITALIAN BEEF
2 lb. Stew beef 1/2 c. dry red wine 1 1/2 c. water 1/2 medium onion, diced 2 t. Italian seasoning 2 bullion cubes 1 whole bay leaf 2 t garlic powder 2 T. wheat bran for thickening, or use substitute
Total Carbohydrate Grams 15 Grams Carbohydrate per serving 3.8
Method of Preparation:
Place the onions, seasonings and bullion cubes in a large pan. Place the beef in the pan. Add the liquids. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer about an hour and a half stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from heat, remove the bay leaf and add the bran. Stir again. Let sit at least 15 minutes
Makes about 4 servings.
